Artist's Statement

Abstact Expressionism is an American school of art. It began as artists found traditional European painting practices inadequate to express thoughts and experiences following WW II. It often appears as raw intellect usually unencumbered with technical fluency. It is an expression through purposeful design which appears, at first, to be the abandonment of specific intent. Much of the burden of this is left to the properties and characteristics of the paint itself.
